Overview

The .300 Winchester Magnum is the most widely issued and competed Western magnum, used by military precision units and F-Open shooters alike. It pushes heavy .30-calibre match bullets fast enough to stay supersonic past 1,200 yards and hits with authority the whole way.

Recoil is significant, barrel life is around 1,500-2,000 rounds of match use, and it demands a full-length action and magnum bolt face. As a do-everything long-range and large-game cartridge with universal factory support, it remains hard to beat.

Typical uses: Military and F-Open long-range shooting, elk and large game, and any application needing supersonic .30-calibre performance past 1,000 yards.
