7mm PRC ballistics chart
The 7mm PRC trajectory with a 180-grain match bullet: drop, wind drift and retained velocity from a 100-yard zero out to 1,500 yards.
What is the 7mm PRC?
The 7mm PRC is Hornady's 7mm member of the Precision Rifle Cartridge family, sitting between the 6.5 PRC and the .300 PRC. Like its siblings it is a non-belted magnum built around long, high-BC bullets - 175 to 180 grains - with a fast 1:8 twist and a throat that seats them out of the powder space.
It matches or beats the 7mm Remington Magnum's velocity with heavier bullets, fits a long action, and recoils noticeably less than the .300 PRC while giving up little in wind drift. It is a strong all-round choice for long-range hunting and for steel matches past 1,000 yards.
Typical uses: Long-range hunting of deer to elk, and extended-range steel and precision-rifle competition.
Sample load
The trajectory below is calculated for this representative factory load in a standard ICAO atmosphere. The bullet is an entry from the app’s bullet library, so the calculator opens with it already selected. Your rifle will differ — enter your own chronographed velocity and verified BC in the calculator for numbers you can dial.
